Herzratenvariabilität

This is how it works: Measure stress with the ECG!

Stress

HRV - the heart rate variability

In the course of my research, I came across an interesting article in the Wirtschaftsblatt. It describes how your heart tells you how much stress you are under. And it does so with heart rate variability. The intervals between two heartbeats are used to measure the regenerative capacity of the heart. And the more different the intervals, the better. As a Chinese proverb says: "The heartbeat beats like a woodpecker, death knocks at the door". Of course, this part of the scientific facts is not new to us at Vitalmonitor, because this is exactly the knowledge we work with.

No 24h ECG necessary

However, in this article it is written about the necessity of a 24h ECG. We can confidently deny that here. Who wants to have a long-term ECG for 24 hours? With the Vitalmonitor, only a 3-minute so-called morning measurement is necessary. By means of the respiratory specification, we determine your ratio of activity between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. In this way the Vitalmonitor recognizes how rested you are, how well you have recovered overnight and how stressed your body is at the moment. Want to know how to combat your stress? We have described two ways here in this blog that you can best use in combination. Stress killer #1 is exercise. Recent studies have shown that autogenic training has a significant role in reducing stress levels. My colleague Klemens has tested this in a self-experiment, read his report here.
